Ruling The State By Telling Lies Will Not Help You, Osun PDP Tells Aregbesola
The Bureau of Communication and Strategy in the Office of the Governor of Osun state, Mr Rauf Aregbesola Tuesday said the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has with its statistics of the nation’s revenue, rubbished claims by the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore who accused the governor of financial recklessness on Monday. This came as the PDP urged the governor to stop telling lies.
Director of the Bureau, Semiu Okanlawon, said the state’s financial troubles mirrors that of the whole country and vindicates Aregbesola.
However, the Osun state chapter of the PDP remained unimpressed by Okanlawon’s defence of his principal. The party described the governor as a serial liar.
PDP’s director of media and strategy, Prince Diran Odeyemi, in a statement said that the governor had contradicted himself, in just two weeks, concerning the debt profile and amount his administration is owing all sectors.
“What the governor needs to understand is that ruling the state by telling lies will not help the him but further expose him as a man bereft of solutions to the present economic woes,” Oyediran said.
He specifically referred to the statement credited to Aregbesola during the inauguration of the Osun state House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 3, where the governor allegedly put the debt profile of the state from the loans to be N75 billion.
